The War of the Rebellion in Cornell University’s Making of America
The War of the Rebellion: A Compilation of the Union and Confederate Armies is a very useful Civil War research tool containing government and military reports from both sides. For the McGuire paper, I originally used the print volumes to locate sources relevant to the topic. The print copy's indexes are a pain in the neck to use. Save yourself some time, use the online version listed above, and take the time to thank Cornell University’s Making of America project for digitizing this and other important resources.
